JSP Chairman Yadav holds press conference, accuses unlawful party split while abroad

JSP Chairman Yadav holds press conference, accuses unlawful party split while abroad

KATHMANDU, May 8: Upendra Yadav, the chairman of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Nepal, has alleged that the party underwent an “unlawful” split during his absence, shedding light on the circumstances surrounding his departure.

During a press conference held at the party’s central office in Balkumari on Wednesday, Yadav said, “The party was unlawfully divided in my absence. This division, driven by personal ambitions, is unconstitutional.”

Yadav said, “Mere gatherings of two or four individuals cannot legitimize a party split. The fracture was instigated by those temporarily assuming chairmanship, motivated by personal agendas.”

He further criticized the registration process of the splinter group, stating that it was flawed. Upholding the law and political ethics, Yadav said that the party's journey will persist.

Yadav disclosed that he had a general discussion with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal regarding the party split. He said, “My interaction with the Prime Minister centered on the split in my party. No further developments occurred beyond that.”
