A community homestay at Lalikharka of Phidim municipality-3 in Panchthar district was inaugurated by Lawmaker Sita Thebe on Friday to mark the International Tourism Day. The homestay has been set up to promote the Visit Nepal 2020 campaign.
On the occasion, lawmaker Thebe informed that homestay would promote the religious, historic and other touristic places of the district for coming Visit Year. "All people in the district must be united to make the Visit Year 2020 successful by promoting both the domestic and foreign tourism," she stressed.
The homestay was set up by the District Coordination Committee with the joint coordination of local associations. A total of 10 houses at Lalikharka and 20 at Batase are offering homestay services among others. The visitors can relish the taste of local foods along with their stay at home, said Tanka Rai, chairman of the Community Homestay Operation Committee. Even the pilgrims to Pathivara Temple could be managed during their homestay, he added.
