SC postpones hearing on Bhuwan KC case for August 29

KATHMANDU,

The Supreme Court (SC) hearing on a case filed against actor and chairperson of Film Development Board (FDB) Bhuwan KC, which was expected to be held on August 22, has been postponed for August 29.

The court had given the hearing date for Monday under Justices Prakash Kumar Dhungana and Kumar Regmi. But, advocate Surya Bahadur Pandey informed the media that the hearing has been postponed again for the third time.

Earlier, five contenders for the chairmanship of the FDB, including Naresh Poudel, filed a petition at the SC saying that KC's educational qualification was not sufficient for the appointment as the chairperson of the FDB. They also demanded an interim order to stop KC from working as the chairperson of the Board.

Likewise, the SC had also called both the plaintiff and the defendants of the case to appear for discussion before the court would issue an interim order.
