Know MoreKATHMANDU, April 3: Surendra Raj Pandey, the Chief Minister (CM) of Gandaki Province, has resigned from his position. Pandey represents the Nepali Congress (NC).
Pandey submitted his resignation to Province Chief Dilliraj Bhatta on Wednesday morning.
Article 168 (2) of the Constitution mandates the Chief Minister to have the support of two or more parties. With the withdrawal of the support by the Maoist Center, Pandey opted to resign rather than pursue a renewed majority coalition.
