Five things Sixit Bhatta likes about Tootle

We all know how difficult it is for commuters in Kathmandu. Congested roads, increasing number of vehicles and ongoing road expansions have made life tougher. Unmanaged urbanization results in all-day-long traffic jam. For the past few years, ridesharing platforms like Tootle has provided the best solution to escape Kathmandu’s bustling public transportation.

Tootle is Nepal’s first ridesharing platform. Founded by Sixit Bhatta, the venture officially started its journey in January 2017. Tootle has already gained a lot of appreciation from the people as it is providing easy and fast ride to the commuters.

Expressing his perception towards the government’s step to prohibit such platforms, Tootle’s founder and CEO Sixit Bhatta said, “The Transportation Act is years old, so it’s time for the concerned authorities to work to address all the issues.”

Currently, more than 10,000 riders are working in affiliation with Tootle. The matchmaker app has become a prefect source of income for the riders. Meanwhile, some are working as a full time rider, and their monthly income exceeds Rs 50,000. There is no doubt that the platform has become beneficial for both riders and pillion riders in different ways. We asked Bhatta to share about five things that he likes about his own company. Here’s what he said:

  • A platform for inclusive mobility
  • Has created employment for thousands of youngsters
  • The technology is developed in Nepal
  • Brand’s name, logo and its design
  • Brand promise to give freedom to move
