Fashion Show 2019 Community Fundraiser for Project Chautara

The British School (TBS) Kathmandu is all set for ‘The British School Kathmandu Fashion Show 2019’ scheduled for Saturday at Soaltee Crowne Plaza, Soaltee Mode.

This fashion show features the top designers such as Sabah Nepal, Ekadesma, Pulchowk3, Hoodrich, Kasa and Kallisto Designs as per a press statement released by The British School Kathmandu. Along with them students from Lincoln, Ullens, Rato Bangla and TBS have supported the event.

The fashion show is a community fundraiser for ‘Project Chautara’. This project is one of TBS’s 25 community partners that are connected to and work together with. This project started two years ago. The press statement added that it has been three years that TBS is continuing to raise money to help rebuild the schools that were damaged in 2015 earthquake. Over the last two years, TBS Sixth Form have raised money to help renovate classrooms, fund class room furnishings and resources and have planned and implemented teaching and learning activities as per the press statement.

The five schools in Chautara who got the support are: Shree Primary School, Bageshwori Lower Secondary School, Shree Bandevi School, Balkalyan School and Siddhi Kamala Secondary School. It mentioned that the funds raised from this year’s event would contribute toward funding a water pipe with continuous supply for water to Balkalyan School. TBS aims to implement long term education programs for health and hygiene, healthy eating, first aid and menstrual health at these schools.
