Dogs in for a festival

Dogs in for a festival

The eighth Grand Dog Show kicked off at the premises of Satdobato Swimming Complex in Lalitpur on Saturday. The show was organized with the collaboration of Bullet Dog Breeder, K9 Dog Trainer, and Pawsative Pet Solution.

The annual show for dogs had separate competitions for puppies and adult dogs along with other activities. Two puppies won the titles of ‘Best in Puppy’ and ‘Best in Grooming’, while among adults three dogs of different breeds won first, second and third positions in the competition. The dogs were evaluated on the basis of their body, walking movement and running movement.

As many as 28 breeds of dogs had participated in the show whereas two of them won the ‘Best in Show’ title. Food, accessories, biscuits, medals, trophies, and certificates were provided to the winner dogs.

Pushpa Gautam, owner of a two-year-old pug named Wrinkle as well as one of the participants of the show said, “This is my first time at a dog show and I was very excited to spend time with other breeds. I think these kinds of shows are important for us as they provide an opportunity to know about different breeds and the methods to handle them.”

Similarly, Surina Rana Magar, another participant of the show said, “I love spending my time with dogs, so this is a perfect place for me. But my dog is a bit aggressive and it’s really hard to handle such dogs for a whole day.” The show also had stalls of different pet shops and training centers that were selling pet accessories, pet foods as well as pets.
