On the occasion of International Youth Day 2017, the Global Peace Youth Corps Nepal (GPYC Nepal ) conducted a discussion program at St Xavier's College, Maitighar on Monday.
The students studying in various levels at the college participated in the program. They discussed on the topic ‘Role of Youth in Peace Building’. As per the press statement released by St Xavier’s College, a total of 39 students participated in the discussion.
Rupa Upreti, board member of National Youth Council, was invited as the guest speaker for the event. In her speech, she urged the youths to be enthusiastic and energetic toward maintaining peace and harmony in the country.
During the discussion, one of the participants talked about the importance of youths’ participation and interest in political discussions. Similarly, another student suggested participation of youths from slum areas to learn more about their opinion on the topic.
