DHM urges caution as the next two days likely to be hotter

KATHMANDU, May 17: The minimum and maximum temperature in most parts of the country has gradually increased over the past few days.

In view of the increasing temperature, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) has urged people to remain cautious, warning that the upcoming two days are likely to be excessively hot and could witness heat waves as well.

A weather bulletin issued by the DHM on Thursday stated that weather will be excessively hot and heat waves could occur in the Terai belt.

Some parts of Sudurpaschim and Lumbini provinces have recorded more than 40 degree Celsius over the past few days.

The DHM has suggested that people stay at home and avoid outdoor activities as much as possible and drink more water.

Likewise, the DHM has said that there will be partly cloudy in Koshi and Madesh provinces along with the hilly regions of the rest of the provinces and mainly fair in the rest of the country today.

Light rain or thunder and lightning is likely to occur at one or two places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces.
