Dengue menace continues, health workers taken ill

SURUNGA, Oct 24: As many as 60 persons have fallen ill due to dengue fever in Damak of Jhapa. 

The dengue fever has spread to 60 individuals including three health workers and one journalist as of Sunday, District Public Health Office, Jhapa said. 

The data shows that Life Line Hospital Damak's Medical Superintendent, Dr Tilak Chandra Sah, and two health workers with Advance Health Care in Damak have been contaminated with the mosquito-borne disease. 

The dengue fever has also taken hold of Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), Jhapa Joint Secretary, Gopal Jhapali, whereas CPN (UML) Damak Town Secretary, Indra Gurung, is currently receiving treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan for the same disease. 

The Ministry of Health (MoH) has dispatched a medical team comprising Dr Yug Chandra Ghimire and lab technician, Dabal Bahadur BC, to Jhapa to control the spread of dengue fever. RSS
