Commonwealth Youth Summit

A team of Nepali delegates comprising Suraj Raj Pandey, Tej Upreti and Ajnish Ghimire are all set to take part in the Commonwealth Youth Summit to be held in Malaysia this November.

According to a press statement, the Summit is being organized by the Commonwealth Youth Council (CYC) in partnership with the Commonwealth Secretariat and the Malaysian Government, the Commonwealth Youth Summit.

The summit is first of its kind and will be held from November 3 to 5, with The University of Nottingham from Semenyih, Malaysia and Limkokwing University of Creative Technology from Cyberjaya, Malaysia as the hosts.

The CYC is the officially recognized voice of the more than 1.2 billion young people in the Commonwealth. It is the largest and most diverse youth-led organization in the world. CYC plays an integral role in advancing the youth development agenda and co-ordination of activities and policies of the Commonwealth in the field of youth. The council works for and represents the voice of all young people within the 52 Commonwealth nations, report the agencies.

This intergenerational convergence will be focusing mainly on climate policy and finance, digital economy and entrepreneurship, peace building and global inequality and social cohesion. The goal would be to bring the most passionate youth leaders together to exchange experiences, foster learning, inspire and expand capacity with the belief that given the right opportunities and support, youth-led projects can make a real change in people’s societies.
