Come, come and sit beside me
And watch the tides
Making the wind visible
By dancing along with it.
Come, come beloved!
Come and watch the kids dancing
In the pouring rain and read a poem
Or two in their eyes and get nostalgic.
Come, come and watch the smiles
On the face of the women tempo drivers
Buzzing around the busy streets of Kathmandu
And look at the chirpy elderly couples
Having milk tea at the rickety roadside tea stall,
And a serene black dog basking nearby in the sun.
Come, come and watch
Stout logs of hope
Forge a makeshift bridge
Over roaring falls
Of an exposed sewage
On the river Bagmati.
Come, come and watch the moon
And the flower toast each other
And perceive that we all are
Just a drink away from the eternity.
