With  a theme "Kathmandu valley-wide citizen's cultural peace walk for national independence, co-existence, and good governance" members of The Civil Voice, a Facebook group has begun a eight-day protest "Citizen's Cultural Peace Walk".

On the sixth day, Wednesday, the walk that began from Bhaktapur reached Kathmandu, where the locals welcomed them heartily.

More than 30 members from The Civil Voice has volunteered to walk for the peaceful protest. The protest is against the implementation of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), which is led by Suman Sayami, President of Upatyaka Sadak Bistar Pidhit Sangharsa Samitee and Upatyaka Sarokar Manch.

They mainly have six demands which are as follows:

1. We don't need MCC, we won't be America's slave.

2. Create environment for the development of independence and protect cultivable lands.

3. Conserve our national culture heritage, respect co-existence.

4. Establish Guthi autonomy, stop attacking on civilization.

5. Be responsible toward citizens, take action  against corruption.

6. Protect national independence, do hear citizen's voice.

Meanwhile, the Speaker Agni Sapkota on Wednesday with his 'unilateral' decision has put off the meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) till July 1.
