The deceased has been identified as Samir Tamang, son of Dawa Tamang of Tilkeni of Ilam Municipality – 6.
Samir had gone out of his house to play with his friend and drowned while swimming, said District Police Office, Ilam.
The police and family members started a search after the boy did not return home for a long time, Inspector Rudra Chudal said.
His body was handed over to the family following a postmortem examination. RSS
