A photo exhibition ‘Ways of the mountains’ by Kathmandu-based photographer Sudin KC opened on 30 November at Himalayan Java, Mandala Street, Thamel. The exhibit portrays the mountain culture and stories of the people living in the Himalayas and their rich cultures and traditions that are nearly untouched by modern influences.

There are incidents in our society where a married woman's position in a family is nothing but synonymous to a cow. The family is feeding her so; she has to do whatever they ask her to do. And we are also very accustomed with the social norms that till now, we do not question why only women have to leave their birth place after marriage. Meanwhile, if a woman wants her husband also leave the house, then the woman is blamed as the home wrecker.

We are surrounded by full of objects, the personal objects, common or public objects etc. Every object has its own purpose to being there and there are lots of stories behind it. However, objects are inseparable things of our daily life. Object reflects the people who belong to it; object also reflects the situation of time.

Berry was appointed ambassador to Nepal on September 2018 and has been living in Nepal since October, 2018. For him art is deeply emotional and added, “I think art which doesn’t move you or doesn’t leave an impression or make or produce a reaction isn’t something that I’m interested in.
