Vehicles used in PM's security reduced

KATHMANDU, Oct 26: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Monday issued instructions for trimming down the number of vehicles used by the secretariat and security personnel deployed for his security in view of the severe shortage of fuel in the country.

He has urged restraint while using the vehicles. As per the instruction the number of vehicles used by the secretariat and security personnel for his security has been reduced, said PM's Press Advisor Pramod Dahal.Meanwhile, Home Minister Shakti Bahadur Basnet has also cut short the number of vehicles used for his security and escort. He has announced not to make use vehicles in his motorcade that constitutes Nepal Police and Armed Police Force.

Minister Basnet made the proposal during the meeting of the chiefs of the three security organs on Sunday and came into effect from the next day.

The Home Minister referred to the acute shortage of fuel in the country and absence of security threat to him while announcing that two security vehicles that escort him at the front and the rear were reduced. RSS
