The government owned corporation claimed it will sell the he-goats during the festival in cheaper prices to the consumers compared to the market price. [break]
The corporation has brought around 2,500 goats from Makawanpur, Sarlahi and Banke districts three days ago so as to address the demand for meat for festive seasons like Dashain and Tihar.
The NFC has fixed the price at Rs 268 per kg for the goat below 25 kg and Rs 276 for the goats above 25 kg.
The corporation has brought the goats from the districts weighing and examining their health and will sell only on cost price, said Acting General Manager of NFC, Rajendra Prasad Banskota.
The corporation claimed the loss of around Rs 3.5 million as some 250 goats died last year.
