SSB men manhandle Nepali businessmen

KATHMANDU, March 26: Indian Seem Sashastra Bal (SSB) on Saturday afternoon have manhandled two Nepali businessmen at Krishnanagar of Kapilbastu district for taking photographs in the border area.



The SSB men led by Bhupendra Man Singh thrashed Uttam Neupane of Kathmandu and Aashis Agrawal of Krishnagar as they were returning to Krishnagar after shopping at Barahnai, India. [break]



According to lawmaker Abhishek Pratap Sah, the SSB men also damaged Acharya´s camera.



A group of business persons from Krishnagar had later reached the SSB outpost to stage a protest against the incident. The businesspersons returned after SSB men there threatened to put them behind bars, according to lawmaker Sah.



Sah said he has filed a complaint against the errant SSB men at Indian embassy in Kathmandu and also faxed the complaints to the offices of Indian prime minister and home minister for action. “Such incidents are taking place on a routine basis in areas near the border,” he complained.
