SANKHUWASABHA, Dec 12: An unidentified group of people on Wednesday night set the ward office of Madi municipality-5 in the district on fire.
Documents, furniture, computer, a photocopy machine, a printer and mobile phones have been burnt down in the fire. Likewise, the group of people also torched an excavator used to dig the under-construction Madi-Okharbote road, said the police.

Netra Bikram Chand-led group might have torched the office, said the municipality mayor Bidur Subba.
Following the fire, a large number of police has been deployed to the incident site. A search has been launched for the arsonists, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Mim Lama.
