Shahi said that a case of war crimes has been registered against Prime Minister Dahal at the Supreme Court and that the apex court has already asked him to appear before the court on June 13. He demanded that the PM step down and allow the court procedures to move forward.

He questioned whether PM Dahal will appear in court as Prime Minister Dahal or Pushpa Kamal Dahal? He said that the Prime Minister who faces criminal  charges should resign and pave the way for the law to take its course. He insisted that the Prime Minister should not remain in office even on ethical grounds.

After the RPP demanded the PM's resignation, CPN (Maoist Center) lawmaker Madhav Sapkota demanded that the opinion expressed by RPP Chief Whip Shahi be removed from parliament’s records.

After the speech of the parliamentarians, Speaker Devraj Ghimire said that the issue had caught his attention. The next meeting of the House of Representatives has been called for Monday at 1 PM.
