Officials at Shital Niwas and prime minister´s office (PMO) at Baluwatar informed that they discussed political issues ranging from budget to the current impasse.[break]
"The president and the prime minister concluded the over two-hour-long meeting in an agreement that the issues will be settled as per the related constitutional provisions and based on political consensus," Rajendra Dahal, the president´s press advisor, told Republica.
The meeting between the president and the prime minister took place at a time when opposition parties including Nepali Congress (NC), CPN-UML, have opposed the government´s plan to introduce new budget. They have argued that the present coalition, which has already been limited to caretaker status, has no legitimacy to bring new budget. They have been insisting that new budget should be brought only by a new government.
