KATHMANDU, April 22: A total of 225 bottles of narcotics hidden inside a vehicle’s tire were seized during a security check in Hetauda, Makwanpur.
Police have arrested one individual in connection with the incident. The arrested individual has been identified as Mumtaz Miya, 24, of Parsa Bahudarmai Municipality-9, who was heading towards Kathmandu from Amlekhgunj, Bara.
Four people arrested with drugs hidden under the ground

According to authorities, the narcotics were discovered around 6:05 am on Saturday during a routine vehicle inspection at the Ratomate checkpoint along the East-West Highway. The inspection was conducted by a team from the Ratomate Police Post.
The narcotics were found in a Sumo vehicle with the registration number Pra 2–03–001 Ja 451, which was traveling from Amlekhganj, Bara to Kathmandu. Upon inspection, police discovered 225 bottles of Onrex (100 ml each) concealed inside a modified spare tire on the vehicle's roof.
Police have taken the drugs, vehicle and driver Mia into custody and obtained a five-day remand from the Makawanpur District Court, Hetauda, for necessary investigation in a drug-related case.
Further investigation into the matter is ongoing.
