RAMPUR, Jan 6: At least six persons were killed and 18 others were injured in a bus accident in Palpa on Thursday night.
The ill-fated bus (Ga 1 Kha 4977) en route to Khursane from Saljhandi met with the accident along the Saljhandi-Dhorapatan road section in Rainadevichhahara Rural Municipality-8, Tandi.

The deceased have been identified as Nirmala Ghimire, 36, of Rainadevichhahara-8, her 11-year-old daughter Sarumaya, Khim Kumari Rana, 54, Guna Kumari Gaha, 40, Dan Kumari Khatry, 21, and Beema Pandey, 19, informed DSP at District Police Office, Palpa, Birendra Thapa.
The accident took place at around 10 pm last night. The bus had fallen around 100 meters off the road.
As many as 18 passengers sustained injuries in the accident. Six of those injured are being treated at Edmond City Hospital, Jeetgadhi, Butwal while 12 others are undergoing treatment in Lumbini Provincial Hospital, Butwal.
Police have taken the bus driver under control to investigate the incident.
