KATHMANDU, June 19: The only women member of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) executive committee Amrita Paudel resigned her post Friday, the day cricket governing body was holding its annual general assembly in the capital.

Paudel resigned from the post accusing CAN leadership of treating her unfairly. She alleged that CAN had not been calling her in the meetings, is involved in financial irregularities, and the organization is being run in an autocratic manner. She also claimed that CAN leadership ignored her suggestions for the development of women cricket and violated standard rules during team selections.

Paudel, however, said that she will always be involved in cricket through Baluwatar Cricket Training Centre.

"I was appointed as a woman member in CAN due to my devotion to the game," said Paudel adding, "I don't think I could do anything for cricket with the current leadership of CAN. I will help girls cricketers by providing training at the Baluwatar Training Center."
