KATHMANDU, Dec 4: NMB Bank has been awarded the 'Bank of the Year 2017' by the Financial Times, London. Issuing a statement, the commercial bank said that the award has reinforced NMB Bank as one of the top tier commercial banks in the country.

"It is an indicator of the bank's remarkable growth in the past few years," the bank added in the statement. NMB bank is the only Nepali bank to become a member of the Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV). According to the statement, the bank currently has consolidated assets size of Rs 88 billion (US$ 864 million) and net worth of Rs 11.1 billion (US$ 109 million). It made a net profit of Rs 451 million (US$4.3 million) at the end of the first quarter of the current fiscal year, according to the statement.
