Newly-appointed NEA Chief Shakya moves to SC over service benefits

The newly-appointed Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), Hitendra Dev Shakya, has filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court (SC) regarding his previous service benefits.

KATHMANDU, March 27: The newly-appointed Managing Director of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), Hitendra Dev Shakya, has filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court (SC) regarding his previous service benefits. 


Shakya reached the apex court on Wednesday, submitting his plea concerning the facilities and entitlements from his prior tenure. However, the SC administration stated that his petition was submitted late and is yet to be reviewed. The petition is expected to be registered after further study on Thursday.

Shakya was removed from the position of NEA Managing Director by the previous government, which had reinstated Kulman Ghising in the role.
