Locals and relatives in protest of the incident called for a bandh demanding action against the driver and compensation for the victim´s family. They also burnt a vehicle bearing the registration number Na 1 Jha 532.
Premnarayan Paudel of Sitapur-8, currently living in Nepalgunj-13, was hit while walking near Ganeshman Chowk and died while being rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Paudel was the Vice Secretary of CPN UML, Nepalgunj-13. The locals claim that the driver, Lieutenant Man Bahadur Chaudhari, has taken refuge in the Rajha barrack.
