KATHMANDU, April 14: The Nepal Medical Association (NMA) has issued a 72-hour ultimatum to the government to address their demands.
In a statement released on Monday, the NMA's General Secretary Dr Sanjeev Tiwari outlined two key demands and gave the government a 72-hour deadline to resolve them. If the demands are not met within the specified time, the NMA has warned of a phased protest involving all doctors across the country.
Government gives ultimatum of 15 days to medical colleges

The 16th meeting of the Medical Education Commission had decided to provide all residential doctors with retirement benefits equivalent to the salary of an eighth-level medical officer of the Government of Nepal. This decision's immediate and effective implementation is stated to be the final demand of the NMA in the statement issued by Tiwari.
Residential doctors studying in various private medical colleges, along with students struggling to pursue postgraduate studies like MD, MS, and others, are also currently protesting.
