KATHMANDU, Nov 4: After receiving numerous complaints from consumers on the growing black marketing, adulteration of food, and selling essential goods at unusually high prices, the Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday issued a press release warning of stern actions against people involved such unlawful activities.
"The government is serious about the growing problems that have emerged following the Indian blockade," the statement read.

The ministry has also drawn the attention of entrepreneurs and institutions like Federation of Nepali Chamber of Commerce and Industries on illegal such activities.
The ministry has also repeatedly said that the government was determined to control the artificial shortage of essential goods and take action against those involved in their black marketing.
Earlier, the organizations related to consumer rights had urged the government bodies and other stakeholders about undue benefits being taken by some traders by creating artificial shortage of different commodities.
They also requested the government to intensify market monitoring activities immediately.
