Memo to PM calling for setup of industrial corridor

BHIMDUTTANAGAR, Feb 21: Bedkot Municipality of Kanchanpur district on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, calling for the expedition of the setup of Daiji-Chhela industrial corridor. 


A team headed by Bedkot Mayor Ashok Kumar Chand handed a memorandum to Prime Minister Oli who reached Dhandgadhi to address the province assembly of Sudurpaschim Province. 

Though the government had announced this programme in 1996, it is yet to be materialized. It came to know that the file has been stuck at the Ministry of Forest.

Receiving the memorandum, PM Oli assured the delegation to take initiative to resume the operation of industrial corridor after having discussion with Minister for Forest and Environment, shared Mayor Chand. 


The Sudurpaschim Province government has allocated a budget of Rs 5 million in the current fiscal year for the establishment of industrial corridor. So far around 900 bigha land has been pooled and Environmental Impact Assessment and Detailed Project Report of the corridor project have been undertaken. RSS
