JANAKPURDHAM, April 8: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli stated that Madhesh is the land of knowledge, meditation and scholarly debates. He shared that stepping foot on the land of Madhesh gave him a profound sense of experience.

He stated that Madhesh became one of Nepal’s provinces after the country progressed under the federal structure. "Madhesh is a leading province in the consciousness of the nation," he said. "It has played a pioneering role in establishing this system. I believe this province will stand at the forefront in protecting and defending this system," he added.

Prime Minister Oli emphasized that the system must serve the country and its people and that we should never forget this. "We are liberal in distributing rights," he said. "We are committed to the cause of complete democracy."

Oli further stressed that the people must experience the system. "The people seek the experience of the system in their own lifestyle and way of life. Democracy must bloom and thrive in all aspects. If the people cannot feel a positive experience of the system in their lives, discontent with the system spreads, and ultimately, the system is discarded," he concluded.

"Without good governance, democracy has no meaning"

In his special address to the Madhesh Provincial Assembly, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli declared that good governance is the pillar of democracy. He emphasized that without good governance, democracy loses its meaning.

Prime Minister Oli further stated that democracy cannot thrive if corruption and commission-taking are unchecked. "If corruption takes root in the people's minds, democracy cannot strengthen," he said. He urged elected representatives to focus seriously on ensuring good governance.

Praising Madhesh Province's "Feed the Nation" slogan, he remarked, "Madhesh has introduced a slogan that not only feeds itself but also nourishes the country, which benefits the nation."
