KATHMANDU, April 23: Lakshmi Ghalan from the gender minority community has been honored with the title of Nagarik Nayak 2080.
On the occasion of its 15th anniversary, Nepal Republic Media (NRM) honored Lakshmi Ghalan of the gender minority community with the Nagarik Nayak 2080 award on Monday.

Ghalan has been working in the field of people from the gender minority community. After realizing that there were others like her in the community, she started an organization called Mitini Support Group in 2004.
She then founded Mitini Nepal in 2006 and started working for the rights of the gender minority.
