KATHMANDU, Nov 2: The Ministry of External Affairs of India has expressed its concern over killing of an Indian national in police firing during protest in Birgunj on Monday.
Reiterating its previous stance that issues facing Nepal are political in nature and can’t be resolved by force, the Indian foreign ministry said that causes underlying the present state of confrontation need to be addressed by the government of Nepal credibly and effectively.“Indian freight forwarders and transporters have voiced their worries again today about the deteriorating situation across the border,” the ministry said in a statement issued on Monday. “We are advising them to exercise caution and not to put themselves in danger.”
The statement further said that the Indian side is monitoring the situation carefully.
