KATHMANDU, March 30: At a time when 615,553 students are appearing for the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) exams across the nation, hundreds of students of the quake-hit districts will be writing their exams under shaggy tents.

According to the Office of the Controller of Examinations (OCE), 69,520 students will sit for the SLC exams in the 11 worst-hit districts. Many school buildings in these districts were damaged by the April earthquake last year and its aftershocks. As a result, the students were forced to pursue their classes under tents both at their homes and schools.
