KATHMANDU, March 5: The House of Representatives (HoR) has approved an ordinance requiring the completion of pre-budget discussions one month before the budget is presented.
The government had brought four ordinances, including the Financial Procedures and Fiscal Responsibility (First Amendment) Ordinance on January 13. On Wednesday, the ordinance was approved by a majority when it was presented to the House of Representatives for decision.
Govt recommends president to issue five ordinances

This ordinance has provisions such as the completion of pre-budget discussions one month before the budget is presented. In Nepal, there is a provision to present the budget on Jestha 15 every year. According to the current ordinance, the pre-budget discussions must be completed before Baisakh 15.
The previous government had brought an ordinance with a provision that the pre-budget discussions must be completed three months before the budget is presented.
Meanwhile, the current government has brought an ordinance that requires the completion of pre-budget discussions one month before the budget is presented.
