FNCCI urges stakeholders to resolve issue by Sunday

KATHMANDU, Setp 12: The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has urged the groups organizing bandhas and disruptions in different parts of Tarai to utilize a three-day window to resolve their issues through dialogue and end their programs. A meeting of the top-notch leaders held in Baluwatar, Kathmandu, on Friday agreed to suspend the Constituent Assembly (CA) drafting process for three days (including Friday) in an effort to bring the disgruntled parties on board.

Organizing a press conference, FNCCI officials said the continuous strikes over the last month had hit the country's economy and discouraged the private sector.


FNCCI also urged government to take the opportunity to resolve issues of agitating groups and seek way-out of every problems within next two days. "The private sector has been the primary victim of the continuous bandhas and disruptions and most of our business and industrial units are being vandalized," Pashupati Murarka, the president of FNCCI said, adding: "Our appeal to resolve issues and leave the private sector out of bandhas and disruptions have not been heard by either party."
