Fear of communicable diseases after tremors havoc

KATHMANDU, April 27: Following earthquakes and after-shocks, doctors fear that communicable diseases could spread in the affected areas as the Metropolitan City Office has not been able to collect garbage in the capital. The communicable disease could create havoc in this condition, a medical doctor said.

Dr Pravin Mishra, former health secretary and a medical doctor, said that chances of water and air-borne diseases are more frequent during these situations. “It is good to wear masks in the crowded places and dispose the wastes properly,” he added, “The chances of air-borne diseases are also very high.”

  • Use masks or cover your mouth

  • Dispose the wastes properly

  • Spray anti-infection

  • Safe drinking water

  • Take hygienic food only
