The meeting also formed a 51-member struggle committee under the leadership of Shyam Prasad Sah, president of JCCI.
“Our protest will continue unless the government agrees to end load-shedding and open tax payers service center in Jaleshwar,” Sah said after the meeting.
District chapters of Private and Boarding Schools Organization Nepal (PABSON), National Private and Boarding Schools Organization Nepal (N-PABSON) and local transporters´ association have expressed their solidarity with the business people´s protest.
Even Matihani town, a major commercial center in the district, remained closed on Tuesday in support of the protest.
Meanwhile, a brief clash erupted between agitating business people and Armed Police Force (APF) personnel when the former tried to block traffic on Janakpur-Jaleshwar road. More than half a dozen protestors and two police personnel were injured in the scuffle.
