Batting first after winning the toss at Kinrara Academy Oval ground in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysian team was bowled out for just 69 runs in 22.4 overs. Nepal´s vice-captain Karn ripped through Malaysia´s batting line-up taking six wickets in the match.[break]
Nepal chased down the small target of 70 runs in 24.3 overs losing just three wickets.
In Nepal’s run chase, Hari Shankar Sah top scored with 28 runs not out whereas Bibhastu Thapa and Amit Shrestha contributed 17 and 10 runs respectively. Nishcal Pandey scored 7 runs.
Earlier, Karna repeated his last match´s magical bowling performance. He had grabbed eight wickets against Bahrain in last match. Bhuvan Karki bagged two wickets while Ygyaman Kumal and Sushant Bhari took a wicket each.
Three Malaysia batsmen returned to the pavilion without scoring, while only two of them managed to reach double figures. For Malaysia, Dhivendran Mogan top scored with 22 runs whereas Amiruddin Azahar contributed 15 runs.
Karn was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant bowling performance.
With the today’s win against Malaysia, Nepal has also topped the group B with eight points and will meet Group A runner-up on Friday in the semifinals.
