Bhat-Bhateni honors security guard Parajuli with Rs 500,000 for saving store from looting

Bhat-Bhateni Supermarket has honored security guard Dul Prasad Parajuli with a cash reward of Rs 501,111 for his bravery in defending its Koteshwor outlet from vandalism and looting.

KATHMANDU, April 2: Bhat-Bhateni Supermarket has honored security guard Dul Prasad Parajuli with a cash reward of Rs 501,111 for his bravery in defending its Koteshwor outlet from vandalism and looting.  


The incident occurred on March 28, following a pro-monarchy protest at Tinkune that turned violent. As the mob dispersed, some individuals stormed the Bhat-Bhateni store in Koteshwor, causing damage and engaging in looting. Parajuli stood his ground and fought back against the attackers.

Along with Parajuli, Bhat-Bhateni also recognized other employees who were on the frontlines during the incident. Security guards were awarded Rs 25,000 each, while staff members who worked overnight to repair the store and restore operations were also honored.  


According to estimates, the looting and vandalism caused damages worth over Rs 8.33 million at the Koteshwor outlet.
