Bhandari, Bosnia's Mesinovic discusses labor accord

KATHMANDU, April 26: Labor Minister Sharatsingh Bhandari and Armin Mesinovic, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina, discussed signing a labor agreement between Nepal and Bosnia to facilitate the employment of Nepali workers.


The minister's private secretariat informed that the two officials held a bilateral meeting today at the Ministry in Kathmandu. Deputy Chief Mesinovic, representing the Bosnia and Herzegovina Embassy in New Delhi, explored the prospect of recruiting Nepali workers in Bosnia.

Mesinovic proposed initiating the formal process for a bilateral labor agreement, citing Bosnia as a potential new destination for Nepali workers.


In response, Minister Bhandari pledged to move the agreement process forward. He noted that Nepal has been actively pursuing labor agreements with several European countries and identified Bosnia as a promising new market for Nepali workers.


Minister Bhandari added that the Labor Ministry has already started providing skills training to prepare Nepali workers for overseas employment. He affirmed that Nepal will supply trained manpower as per Bosnia's demand.
