KATHMANDU, Feb 11: The song from the movie 'Laj Sharanam' reached number two on YouTube Trending.
Sung by Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah, the song entered YouTube Trending in just a few hours after its release.
By 7:30 AM on Tuesday, it had climbed to number two on YouTube's music section Trending list.
The song "Nepal Haseko..." features Balen's lyrics, music, vocals and rap. It envisions a developed Nepal while portraying the current reality.

The chorus also features vocals from other artists, including Sara Khadgi, Manushi Poudel and Krisha Khadka.
This is the first song released by Balen Shah since becoming the mayor of Nepal's federal capital city.
'Laj Sharanam' has labeled Balen's song as a promotional track, which has further boosted the movie's hype.
A few days ago, 'Laj Sharanam' also released the song "Herda Herda Ma...".
The team behind the comedy TV series 'Sakkigoni' created the movie 'Laj Sharanam'. Writers, actors, and the director from the 'Sakkigoni' team have all contributed to the movie.
Sitaram Kattel, known as 'Dhurmus', plays the lead role in 'Laj Sharanam' while Kumar Kattel directed the film.
The film also features performances from Arjun Ghimire, Sagar Lamsal, Harish Niraula, Priyanka Acharya, Bijay Baral, Mahesh Tripathi, Arpan Thapa, Renu Yogi, Bijay Lama, Mukunda Shrestha, Mala Limbu, and others.
JP Creations produced the film, with Nabin Shrestha as the producer and Ram Naresh Shah and Srijana Khadka as co-producers.
'Laj Sharanam', set to release on February 26, the day of Maha Shivaratri, is one of the most anticipated films of the year.
