Work on the foundation of a new Bailey bridge has begun at the site where the concrete bridge linking Syafrubesi with Dhunche, the district headquarters of Rasuwa, was swept away by the Bhotekoshi flood on August 26.
Construction is continuing around the clock, with authorities aiming to complete the bridge before Tihar.
The District Administration Office has also supplied steel cables and other materials to build a temporary footbridge linking Syafrubesi and Bridim. The flood had disrupted movement along this route.
With the materials now available, work on the footbridge is progressing alongside the Bailey bridge project to restore access for residents in the affected area, the administration said.
