KATHMANDU, Jan 24: A fire on Thursday afternoon in Kathmandu’s Ason Annapurna Temple area resulted in Rs 3.5 million in damages, according to Kathmandu District Police.
Deputy Superintendent and spokesperson Purnima Kumari Chand said the fire had ignited in the ground-floor warehouse of Sunil Tuladhar’s five-story concrete house, where electrical items and utensils were stored. An electrical short circuit during shutter welding triggered the blaze.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Rukesh Tandukar led a team of 15 police personnel, who, along with two fire engines from Juddha Barun Newroad and one from Lalitpur, successfully extinguished the fire.
The police stated that the incident caused no human casualties.
