Around 50 disqualified combatants arrested

KATHMANDU, Jan 4: Police arrested around 50 disqualified Maoist combatants participating in a torch rally at Shanti Vatika, Ratnapark on Wednesday night.



Police even arrested few bystanders from the spot. [break]



Nanda Bahadur Budha Magar, general secretary of peasant organization and Lal Bahadur BC, general secretary of teachers’ union of the UCPN (Maoist) who were among the bystanders were also arrested.



“We have been arrested by the police though we had not participated in the rally,” Magar informed our correspondent from Hanuman Dhoka where they have been detained.
