Afghan champs of Body Building

KATHMANDU, June 19: Afghanistan on Saturday became the team champions of the Seventh South Asian Body Building Championship held in the capital with 116 points. Pakistan and India became the first and second runners up.



Sachit Pradhan and Shyam Shrestha won a gold each for Nepal. Pradhan bagged gold in fly weight 60 kg and Shrestha won in bantam weight 65 kg. [break]



Daljeet Singh of India and Mohammad Najim Kasimi of Afghanistan won the second and third position in 60 kg respectively. Likewise in 65 kg, Izzatallah Arab of Afghanistan and Ashraf Ali of Pakistan won silver and bronze.



In 55 kg, Mohammad Bilal of Pakistan, Khwaja Aga Siddiqui of Afghanistan won gold and silver while Dayaram Diwakar of the hosts and Jiyad Mohammad of Maldives jointly won silver.



In 70 kg, Azhar Zafar of Pakistan bagged gold while Abdul Sameh Haidari and Hunar Ahmad Karim of Afghanistan won silver and bronze. In 80 kg, Mohammad Imran Qureshi of Pakistan bagged gold while silver went to Govinda Jha of India and Milan Sijapati of Nepal won bronze.







In 85 kg, Fida Hussain of Pakistan, Binay Pandey of India and Ajij Ahmad of Afghanistan took the top three spots respectively. In 90 kg, Jilendra Dhillon of India, Parvez Sukaram of Afghanistan and Bikram of India secured the top three positions.



In over 90 kg category, Javed Ali Khan of India, Atif Anwar of Pakistan and Abdullah Habib of Afghanistan took the top three positions.
