KATHMANDU, May 20: As many as 8,305 new cases of the coronavirus disease were detected on Thursday taking the country’s overall casetally to 488,645.

Similarly, 6,543 COVID-19 patients gained recovery from across the country which has taken the total number of recoveries to 366,946. This accounts for 75.1 percent of the total cases confirmed so far. As many as 115,852 people, however, are yet to recover from the disease. Of them, 1,08,038 infected people are staying isolated at homes.
Meanwhile, 190 more people died of the corona infection on Thursday. Since the country reported its first death on May 16 last year, a total of 5,847 fatalities have been recorded.
