75th Democracy Day celebrated in Tundikhel (Photo Feature)

February 19, 1951, or Falgun 7, 2007, which marked the end of the 104-year long autocratic Rana regime and the dawn of democracy in Nepal, is a historic day for the country that remained indelible.

KATHMANDU, Feb 19: The 75th National Democracy Day has been observed amidst a special function held in Tundikhel on Wednesday.

President Ram Chandra Paudel, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and other high-ranking government officials were present at the ceremony. February 19, 1951, or Falgun 7, 2007, which marked the end of the 104-year long autocratic Rana regime and the dawn of democracy in Nepal, is a historic day for the country that remained indelible.


At the ceremony, white doves, symbols of freedom, were also released.
