HUMLA, June 20: Over 200 yaks died due to hunger in the recent days at Lini VDC in Humla district as the heavy snowfall until mid- April damaged the grazing areas.

The yaks died as they did not get sufficient grass due to snowfall, said Sunam Tenzen, a local. The locals are facing difficulties for grazing their yaks as the pasture lands in the border area of China was banned for some years.

Similarly, locals are deprived of different services from the governmental offices as the road sections in the remote parts in the district were blocked. RSS
