Based on a tip-off, a Koshi Province APF team from Pakali, Sunsari, intercepted two suspicious trucks at around 1:30 AM. A search revealed 158 sacks of cannabis packed inside the vehicles.

The situation escalated after three inmates died between August 31 and September 3, while over 500 others developed high fever. Following the deaths, emergency medical teams were deployed for continuous health checkups and blood sample collection.

“Jaleshwar was admitted to the district hospital due to a fever and later developed breathing problems, resulting in his death during treatment,” said SP Suman Timsina, Chief of DPO.

Sixteen people trapped in a blaze at Center Plaza, five of them women, were rescued by a joint team of Nepal Army and the Armed Police Force. The Plaza is a supermarket in the eastern town of Itahari, Sunsari.
